Conference Parking
On Friday before 5:00 pm, conference participants can park in any student parking lot. A few spots closer to the venue will also be reserved for older or disabled conference attendees who need them (for more info on these reserved spaces, email Matt Gross at grossm@hsu.edu). On Saturday, conference participants can park in any faculty or student lot. On both days, there is open parking on several of the roads on or near campus.
Conference Registration
To register for the conference, you will now need to register on-site. The registration fee on site for undergraduate or graduate students is $50, and for professional academics is $90. ArkPSA membership is included in the conference registration.
Conference Hotel
Conference goers may receive a discount rate at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites (7 Frost Rd, Caddo Valley, AR 71923) through the group code “APS”. Single rooms with one king-size bed are $110 per night plus tax; doubles with two queen-size beds are $120 per night.

This notification is the call for papers, panels, and roundtables for the 2020 conference of the Arkansas Political Science Association. The Arkansas Political Science Association is a professional association for university and secondary school Political Science educators, graduate and undergraduate students, practitioners, and others interested in the scientific study of government and political behavior. The Arkansas Political Science Association also publishes a refereed journal: The Midsouth Political Science Review.
The association invites submissions of proposals of papers, panels, and roundtables from scholars and students of Political Science and related disciplines. All proposals should include the information requested under the “Proposals Submission” sub-heading below. If you are uncertain about the placement of the proposed paper, panel, or roundtable, please contact the Program Chair for clarification on the appropriate section. Individuals willing to serve as Panel Chairs or Discussants should send such requests to the appropriate Section Chair.
Please e-mail proposals to the appropriate section chairs (see below) with the following information by the deadline of Sunday, Dec. 15:
- Type of Proposal (paper, panel, roundtable)
- An Abstract
- Title of Submission
- Name, position, and institutional affiliation
- Mailing address, telephone number, and e-mail address
- If volunteering to serve as panel chair or discussant, include fields of expertise.
