Call for Nominations for the Distinguished Scholar Award (2020-2021)

The Distinguished Scholar Award Committee of the Arkansas Political Science Association (ArkPSA) is accepting nominations for the award for 2020-2021. Accepting Nominations for ArkPSA 2020 Best Paper Award

We are now accepting nominations for the Faculty, Graduate, and Undergraduate Best Paper awards from ArkPSA 2020 meeting.  All nominations must include a copy of the paper.  To nominate a paper, simply email Matt Gross (grossm@hsu.edu) with the author’s information and a copy of the paper.  Nominations must be submitted by May 15, 2020.  

Parry awarded Distinguished Scholar Award

Dr. Janine Parry (University of Arkansas-Fayetteville) received the Distinguished Scholar Award at the 2020 ArkPSA meet at Henderson State University. She received the award because she has played a vital role in shaping how we see Arkansas Politics for the last two decades. She came to the University of Arkansas in 1998 after receiving her Ph.D. in Political Science from Washington State University. Seeking Volunteers For At-Large Board Vacancies for 2020-2022

Arkansas Political Science Association seeks two individuals to serve as at-large members of the Executive Board for a term lasting from 2020-2022. Board duties include attending the annual board meeting (held before the yearly association meeting), making governance decisions about the association, and serving on various committees and subcommittees that advance the work of the association. Do you have students who have never made a paper presentation, have apprehension about public presentation, and/or plan to make a poster presentation at an academic conference in the future? Have them do a poster presentation at ArkPSA. While the conference will still have undergraduate panels like previous years, we will also have poster presentations.
