The 46th Annual Meeting of the ArkPSA will be held on the campus of the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville on March 8-9, 2019.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION

Conference registration and association membership can be paid through PayPal or on-site. The fees for membership and/or conference registration are the following: $85 professional conference registration, $50 graduate and undergraduate student conference registration, and $30 for ArkPSA membership. There will be an additional $5 fee for paying on-site.

For any faculty member, primary or secondary teacher, other political science professional experiencing financial difficulties, or any graduate or undergraduate student whose school and/or department does not provide funding for travel and participation in conferences, you may apply for a waiver of the registration fee by e-mailing the Program Co-chair Karen Sebold at ksebold@uark.edu. There are a limited number of waivers given on a first requested, first serve basis once need has been established.

 

CONFERENCE HOTEL

There are a block of rooms reserved for the conference at the Comfort Inn (1234 Steamboat Drive, Fayetteville; (520) 979-3326). The conference rate is $105 per night. The deadline for the conference hotel rate is Feb. 16. Rooms may be booked with queen- or king-sized beds, and they come with access to WiFi, full hot breakfast, pool/hot tub, and exercise room. Members must mention the Arkansas Political Science Association to receive the discounted rate; otherwise, it is at least $119 or more per night. Members can also reserve this price for the night before or after if they choose to stay longer.

Note:  All faculty members and students listed on the program of an ArkPSA annual meeting are required to register and pay full registration fees (ArkPSA By-Law, 2003).

This notification is the call for papers, panels, and roundtables for the 2019 conference of the Arkansas Political Science Association. The Arkansas Political Science Association is a professional association for university and secondary school Political Science educators, graduate and undergraduate students, practitioners, and others interested in the scientific study of government and political behavior. The Arkansas Political Science Association also publishes a refereed journal: The Midsouth Political Science Review.

The association invites submissions of proposals of papers, panels, and roundtables from scholars and students of Political Science and related disciplines. All proposals should include the information requested under the “Proposals Submission” sub-heading below. If you are uncertain about the placement of the proposed paper, panel, or roundtable, please contact the Program Chair for clarification on the appropriate section. Individuals willing to serve as Panel Chairs or Discussants should send such requests to the appropriate Section Chair.

Please e-mail proposals to the appropriate section chairs (see below) with the following information by the deadline of Friday, Dec. 7:

  • Type of Proposal (paper, panel, roundtable)
  • An Abstract
  • Title of Submission
  • Name, position, and institutional affiliation
  • Mailing address, telephone number, and e-mail address
  • If offering to serve as panel chair or discussant, include fields of expertise.
